Dr. Nagamani Srinath
Recipient of the Central Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, conferred by the Government of India; Member of the Executive Board - Central Sangeet Natak Akademi; and recipient of the Ganayogi Panchakshari Gawai National Award, the Government of Karnataka's highest honour in music. Distinguished Carnatic classical musician (vocal), composer, author, educator, philanthropist, and cultural leader whose contributions have significantly enriched India's performing arts and cultural heritage.
Dr. Nagamani Srinath pioneered the archiving of over 500 hours of structured Carnatic music instruction, preserving the Gurukula tradition for future generations.

For over four decades, Dr. Nagamani Srinath has dedicated herself to the teaching and propagation of Carnatic music. As a Professor, Head of the Department of Music, mentor and guru, she has trained generations of students while preserving the traditional Gurukula method of learning through scholarship, personal instruction and innovative educational initiatives. Among her most significant contributions is the creation of the Gurukula (DVD) and Sangeetha Saadhane (CD) learning series, comprising over 500 hours of structured instructional material that guides students from foundational lessons to advanced concepts of Carnatic music.
Sunaada Cultural Center

Founded in 1983, Sunaada Cultural Center was established with the vision of preserving and propagating Carnatic music through the traditional Gurukula system. Through regular classes, workshops, lecture demonstrations, thematic concerts and academic programmes, the Centre has nurtured generations of students while fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of Carnatic music.

Gurukula Learning Series
One of Dr. Nagamani Srinath's most significant contributions to Carnatic music education is the creation of the Gurukula (Audio-Visual DVD) and Sangeetha Saadhane (Audio CD) learning series.
Comprising over 500 hours of carefully structured instructional material, this comprehensive educational project guides students from foundational lessons to advanced concepts of Carnatic music. Covering practical training, musicology, notation, lecture demonstrations and creative aspects such as rāga ālāpana, neraval, kalpanā swaras and pallavi, the series recreates the experience of learning directly from a guru while making quality instruction accessible to students across the world. Widely appreciated by learners and teachers alike, it stands as one of Prof. Dr. Nagamani Srinath's most enduring contributions to the preservation and propagation of Carnatic music.
Mentor & Guru
Dr. Nagamani Srinath has mentored generations of aspiring musicians, many of whom have gone on to establish themselves as performers, teachers and scholars in India and abroad. She is known not only for her rigorous training but also for actively encouraging young artistes by providing opportunities to perform alongside her in prestigious concerts and thematic productions. Through both in-person and online Gurukula classes, she continues to guide students across the globe.
